History of the first gazebo

Summarizing the birth of the gazebo, therefore its history and evolution, the first forms of gazebos were built in the central points of each city (dominating the most important squares) or were placed in public parks. Mainly used as a meeting place, the gazebo was built in places where it was possible to observe the transit of passersby while sitting comfortably on benches or simple chairs.
The most used materials since its birth were wood and iron. Masonry models were also made.
With the evolution, the gazebo has become a private piece of furniture, something to be exhibited with pleasure outside its own homes. And so it was placed on terraces or gardens of private homes. However, despite the evolution, it is still preferred to keep the use of the gazebo in public places. In fact, there are some models right outside of restaurants, pizzerias, bars, cloisters of all kinds, beaches, swimming pools, stations, etc. Decorated with various types of materials, starting from the plastic that dominates the sloping roof up to the fake straw that characterizes the beach gazebo.

Advice from outdoor architects

The modern garden architecture and the most widely read outdoor architecture magazines show us how the same aluminum can become easy to model to create various models of gazebos. Some are suitable for simple protection from sunlight and other fixed and impermeable surfaces perfect for any type of season and climate.
Some summer models of gazebos are characterized by a microperforated fabric roof, useful for filtering rainwater. It is advisable to remove the micro-perforated fabric cover during the winter season. The frame of the gazebo is dominated by the color of the paint capable of generating a pleasant contrast with the light curtains. The colors of the structure can be: black, brown, green, white. While the most requested colors for roofs and curtains are: white, ivory, champagne, beige, yellow, orange, red, green, blue, blue, gray ... or, if these should not please, some gazebo producers offer the possibility to choose both the color of the preferred structure and the color of the curtains and the cover of your gazebo. In short, you can really enjoy yourself by giving free rein to your imagination and good taste.
Other summer models of gazebos offer a particular decoration of the model made with curtains on all four sides. We talk about sliding curtains that can be left open or closed if particular privacy is desired. The fabric used for the curtains can be of any type. We pass from curtains made of acrylic fabric a little thicker and heavier to transparent and colored curtains, perfect to guarantee excellent coverage from the too hot rays of the sun and to allow only the passage of the fresh breeze of the warm months.

Fixed gazebo: because it is preferred to the other models

The fixed gazebo models offer a greater choice both as regards the materials to be used to make them and decorate them and for the quality of the fabric that will cover the skeleton of your gazebo. Precisely because these are fixed structures that must withstand every type of climate, therefore strong wind, snow, rain and much more, we recommend the use of large iron bolts, capable of fixing the aluminum poles of the gazebo both in the soft garden land that on the asphalt of your own backyard. Here too the colors of the skeleton painting can be of any type, it is often waterproof, to prevent the same aluminum from being attacked by atmospheric agents. While the recommended covers are those in plastic, PVC, waxed sheets, polycarbonate (or a transparent synthetic resin). The sloping or "pointed" roof, made with the material listed above, allows rainwater to slide down without getting stuck on the roof and risk weighing it down or breaking it. Furthermore, the rigidity of the material and the soft curves allows the cover itself to remain firmly attached to the aluminum skeleton, especially when attacked by strong winds.
As for the aluminum poles or pillars, there are usually four of them, connected at the top with strong aluminum beams which, joined together, generate a square "base" where the roof is surmounted. But the shape of your gazebo can also be hexagonal, rectangular, elongated with rounded corners, circular and much more. The shape, of course, increases the number of poles to be inserted into the soil to feed the stability of the gazebo.
Also in this field, art has merged with technology and from this fusion extraordinary forms were born to give life to what were once very simple gazebo models. Some look like real Renaissance domes, surrounded by glass or with the only tempered glass roof resistant to any kind of impact. The glasses can be either dark or transparent. Instead, the more elaborate forms of gazebos offer circular roofs surrounded by worked aluminum arches and small decorations added to the rounded corners.
Some models of gazebos are real outdoor houses made of wrought iron or aluminum. Decorated to the extreme with detailed processing always of the same material of the gazebo and covered with various types of curtains. Particularly elegant and pleasant to observe, they often dominate the gardens of large villas in the open countryside.

Because aluminum or iron is preferred

Even if it is a type of wood, we prefer to use iron or aluminum mainly because wood, being fragile, cannot last forever. In fact, the organic material, remaining for a long time in outdoor places, however, risks being damaged or weakened. This is why the wood has been replaced by solid and non-organic materials and these are protected by special paints to guarantee the long life of the beloved gazebo.
Furthermore, the gazebo is increasingly used, which, together with its skeleton, has large benches in solid material or even a few small tables in the center, all the furniture combined with the structure itself. No longer a single cover to furnish as you wish, but a real outdoor living room already furnished, where you can take a pleasant cup of coffee in solitude, read books and even have a conversation with friends.
In short, even for a very simple gazebo, the architects strive to offer the best and allow them to furnish homes around the globe with truly original pieces.
